Our bedrooms and suites

Following the recent renovation, Chateau de la Forge now has 6 bedrooms on the first floor accessed through a grand oak staircase. Each room is equipped with an en-suite bathroom with generously proportioned walk-in shower.

All our bedrooms have large (king or super-king) luxurious beds and top quality bed linen and are individually decorated to match the personality of the room.

Each room is named after one of our favourite towns and villages in Perigord, a reminder of this beautiful region and the many places worth visiting. Come and explore some of our rooms.

Chateau de la Forge (Dordogne, France)
Suite Sarlat

Suite Sarlat

Named after one of the most visited towns in the Perigord Noir, Sarlat has traditionally been the chateau's main bedroom. Four and a half metres in height, with its original stone marble fire place and exposed oak beams. Room Sarlat has double aspect windows facing South and West, overlooking the large west terrace and the 18-metre long heated swimming pool. The en-suite bathroom features a marbel topped double washing basin and a luxurious walk in shower.

Sute Beynac

Suite Beynac

Our largest suite, and a bright triple aspect room flooded with light throughout the day thanks to its large french windows facing East, South and West. Besides its super-king-size bed and beautifully restored antique wardrobe and chest of drawers,  a writing desk in the middle of the room offers a great place to sit down peacefully, write letters or read a book overlooking the gardens and fields around the house.

Beynac has its own and luxurious en-suite bathroom facing East and overlooking the terrace and the gardens. it is equipped with a marble topped double washing basin, a two-metre long double-end walk-in shower and a free-standing Imperial roll-top bathtub, making it the perfect place to start the daily adventure, or to unwind after a day of excursion.

Issac

Room Issac

Facing South, Issac is the first of our next two rooms, next to each other and symmetrical in nature. The decoration is, however, unique to each one of them.

Room Issac has a generous king size bed, en-suite facilities, and beautiful dark blue walls that are warm and welcome at any time of the year.

Room Eymet

Eymet

Perfectly symetrical to Issac, and equally facing South, Eymet has two twin beds that can be put together too (becoming a king-sized bed).

Monpazier

Room Monpazier

Facing West, with beautiful views over the swimming pool and the often bright red sunsets, Monpazier has a large king-size bed and a English antique wardrobe (with a special place reserved for your hat ... in case you bring one with you).

Belves

Room Belves

Finally, facing East and enjoying fantastic sunrise views over the formal garden, Belves is one of our largest rooms. A comfortable super-king-sized bed, its own writing desk and its own large en-suite bathroom with bathtub-shower.
