France in the 17th century

[La Forge started its life as a country house for the supervisor of cannon maker.

Over the centuries, it added (and sadly also demonised some) buildings including those used to make butter, cheese, and even wine. Today there are many stone works reminding us of its varied history.

We fell in love with the Chateau at the first sight despite the complete lack of modern living facilities - there was no proper plumbing, electricity, and of course no central heating.

Having spent two years modernising and renovating the chateau, we feel it is time to share its beauty with our guests.
